I’m Jocelyn Bystrom, and this is your personal invitation. If you want a gentle, reliable place to breathe and move forward. I’d love to support you. Join a 12‑week small cohort-based, workshop series to grow alongside others at a steady pace, or work with me one‑on‑one as your care partner, motivated with expertise to customize tools for your season. Either way, you’ll get compassionate guidance, practical skills, and consistent follow‑through—one story, one moment, one breath at a time.
When you’re ready, I’m here. I’m here for individuals, care partners, parents, and caregivers navigating new or challenging medical diagnoses and the winding road of prioritizing health, healing, and wellbeing., whether you're feeling alone on this journey or supporting a loved one. I build small, supportive spaces, practical workshops, and facilitate with simple writing prompts, and practical DBT skills within a community of unwavering support, so you can breathe, belong, and move forward—with an invitation to have your story witnessed, so that healing can begin.
Back on February 18, 2021, after a 7-years-long diagnostic journey, I heard these words from Dr. J.J. Sidhu at VGH’s Seizure Investigation Unit:
That sentence changed my life. In 2026, I’m living joyfully, loving the life I’ve rebuilt, after doing the hard work motivated to thrive. Now, one chapter ahead and after a 30+ year career as an educational leader and Adlerian School Counsellor, and M.Ed. in Leadership and Counselling, I'm serving the FND community, as well as individuals navigating varied new challenging diagnoses at the intersections of neurology and psychiatry such as, but not limited to: FND, ADHD, PTSD, ANXIETY, ASD, and other complex care, mind-body medical challenges with unwavering support and real skills that help.
With gratitude, Jocelyn

You feel seen, safe, and respected in small, brave spaces designed for people navigating new or complex diagnoses.
You settle into short, predictable Zoom sessions—60 or 90 minutes weekly—with clear boundaries and kind accountability.
You use simple DBT tools in real life, build daily habits that stick, and celebrate steady wins without pressure to perform.
You find your voice, name your needs, ask for help without shame, and create sustainable rhythms for sleep, nourishment, movement, faith, and relationships.
You experience honoured confidentiality, a humane pace, and progress you can feel—in a calmer nervous system, stronger self‑advocacy, and a deeper sense of belonging.
You enjoy a compassionate community of individuals, showing up with authenticity, talking about the tough stuff, and motivated to thrive.
This is where skills turn into a life you can actually live joyfully, while learning to calm your nervous system, so you don't have to live in that elevated state of constant hyper arousal, despite navigating any variety of life-impacting medical diagnoses.
